Waze is the most social driving app. Part of this “socialization” is that other drivers can see where you are on the map, with your avatar and name, although this is optional. Can hide yourself in Waze with invisible mode.
If you want to use Waze like a real ninja, you can activate stealth mode at any time, even from Waze settings within Android Autowithout having to bother using your cell phone for it.
Waze in invisible mode
Waze is a GPS navigation application that includes an important social component that goes beyond reporting incidents on the road. About the map itself you can see the avatars of other drivers. With a tap on it, you will see more information.
From these other Wazers you can see when they joined, how many points they have and even their current speed, with the option to send them a message or a Beep (available depending on their privacy options). The same applies to your own account: other drivers can see where you are. And maybe you don’t want it to be that way.
For those moments when you want to go more unnoticed, Waze has an invisible mode which you can activate directly from the application settings in Android Auto.
The first step is to press the gear icon in the corner of Waze to enter the settings. Then it’s time to tap on the submenu to Privacy settingswhich is where the setting in question is located.
Then all that remains is to enter inside Stealth modethe option that will allow us to hide from the Waze map while still enjoying all the advantages of the application.
Waze then tells us that when activating the invisible mode all our information on the map will be hiddensuch as username, avatar and other information. Even our friends won’t be able to see our name or photo.
If that’s what you want, all you have to do is press the button Activate so that your Waze goes from visible mode to invisible mode, without further ado. The application works the same as always and, in fact, you will not notice any changes.
If at any time you change your mind and you want to make your Waze visible againyou just need to retrace your steps to enter the same menu and disable stealth mode. That easy.
