I’ve been trying to read comics on my eReader for more than half a year, and it’s impossible. This is the alternative to Kindle that I would buy

It’s been almost half a year since I dusted off that eReader that I bought a long time ago to start reading. And although my experience has been more than satisfactory, during this time I have encountered a problem: it is exasperating to read comics. Luckily, Rakuten has launched this year its Kobo Clara Colorand since it is now discounted in the official store for 139.99 euros I will very possibly end up buying it. It is slightly cheaper on Amazon, but shipping takes one to two months.

An eReader with a color screen that allows you to read comics and magazines

In case you are wondering, I currently have a Kobo Clara 2E, an eReader that has been replaced by the new Kobo Clara Color model with a color screen. This addition seems to me interesting for several reasons, the main one being to read comics and magazines.

Although I have mostly read novels, as is the case with the ‘Mistborn’ trilogy and other books by Brandon Sanderson or George RR Martin, I have also wanted to try other types of novels—visual in this case—and magazines. On occasions I have been able to access them and on many other occasions the eReader has hung and has restartedpreventing you from enjoying this type of reading.

On the other hand, the Kobo Clara Color has practically everything I look for in an eReader, and that is why I consider it a very good alternative to the Kindle (partly it is also because of the price): it has a compact format which allows me to take it on a trip without any hassle, storing it in any backpack or shoulder bag without it taking up practically any space, and its performance is quite good.

Although the color screen is something that I had avoided until now, because I am not an inveterate reader of graphic novels or comics, I do want something that is functional in this sense. There are a lot of digital books I want to read, and the Rakuten eReader has a pretty interesting price. I bought my current eReader more expensively, so the new model with a color screen, which offers a more complete experience, It has a better quality-price ratio.

There are also other more expensive models, both from Rakuten and Amazon (Kindle), but I am not looking for the best of the best either: the only thing I want is for it to be useful for reading any content, be it a novel, graphic novel, comic or magazine. The Kobo Clara Color is interesting for this reason, and It is the main candidate to buy it during this Christmas that is on sale.
